A Relaxed & Colourful Lupton House Wedding in Devon
A Summer Wedding Full of Laughter, Love & Personality
Some love stories move quickly, and Lucy and Jake's is definitely one of them.
After a little encouragement from Lucy's maid of honour (who insisted she was "too pretty to be on her own"), she downloaded Tinder. After chatting for a few days, Jake happened to be out for an evening drive when he noticed Lucy's location was Paignton. They decided to meet on the seafront, where what was meant to be a quick hello turned into hours spent talking by the sea.
Before they said goodbye, Lucy asked the question that would change everything.
"So... when do I get to see you again?"
Jake's answer?
"Tomorrow night."
Their first official date took them to Dawlish for fish and chips, followed by the arcades and a drive around the bay, listening to music and talking for hours. From that moment, they became inseparable.
Just one week later, they were officially together. Three months later, they moved in together. Eight months after that, Jake proposed, and now, three and a half years later, they celebrated becoming husband and wife surrounded by everyone they love.
A Proposal They’ll Never Forget
Not every proposal needs a grand gesture.
Jake had originally planned to propose during their Christmas celebrations, even wrapping the ring in Christmas paper to keep it hidden. But after Lucy spent an evening jokingly asking when he was finally going to propose, he simply couldn't wait any longer.
In their living room, with Lucy wearing her pyjamas and a messy bun, Jake got down on one knee.
Just the two of them.
No audience.
No big production.
Just the beginning of the next chapter together.
Sometimes the simplest moments become the most unforgettable.

One of my favourite things about photographing their day was how completely themselves they were. Nothing felt forced. They spent the day enjoying every moment with their family and friends, laughing together and soaking up every second.

My approach throughout the day was to let moments unfold naturally while stepping in with gentle guidance whenever needed. From emotional reactions during the ceremony to quiet moments together after confetti, every photograph tells a small part of Lucy and Jake's story.
Rather than spending hours away from their guests, we kept portraits relaxed and fun, allowing them to enjoy their celebration while still creating timeless images they'll treasure forever.
