South West Wedding Photographer | Devon & Somerset

Planning your wedding in the South West?
Photoomey Photography provides natural, candid and documentary-style wedding photography throughout Devon and Somerset, as well as Bristol, the Cotswolds and the wider South West.
Hey, I'm Steph, a relaxed and unobtrusive wedding photographer based in Devon and Somerset. I photograph weddings for couples who want beautiful, colourful photographs without spending their wedding day constantly posing for the camera.
My approach is all about capturing your wedding as it actually felt. I'll blend into the background when the moments are happening naturally, anticipate the little interactions between you and your guests, and give you gentle direction when you need it.
That means genuine laughter, happy tears, hugs, chaotic dance floors, quiet moments, the people you love and all the little things that make your wedding completely yours.
Whether you're planning a coastal wedding in Devon, a countryside barn wedding in Somerset, an elegant manor house celebration, a relaxed registry office wedding or a larger South West wedding, I'll adapt to your day rather than trying to make your wedding fit a particular photography style.

My documentary-led approach focuses on genuine moments and real emotions as they happen, with gentle guidance when you need it, so you can spend your wedding actually enjoying it rather than feeling like you're at a photoshoot.

My approach to wedding photography
I don't believe your wedding day should feel like a photoshoot.
My photography is natural, candid, colourful and documentary-led, with a fun and relaxed approach throughout the day.
I'll photograph the things you might not even notice are happening: your mum seeing you for the first time, your friends laughing during the speeches, your partner's reaction as you walk down the aisle, grandparents chatting in the corner and the madness that happens on the dance floor.
When it comes to portraits, I won't expect you to know how to pose. I'll give you gentle prompts and things to do so you can relax, interact with each other and enjoy the moment.
The result is a gallery filled with photographs that don't just show what your wedding looked like. They bring back what it felt like to be there.

Wedding photography for different types of celebrations
My approach isn't limited to one particular type of wedding.
I photograph everything from small and intimate ceremonies to full wedding days, including registry office weddings, countryside barn weddings, coastal celebrations, manor houses, hotels, outdoor weddings and larger celebrations.
You can have an elegant or luxurious wedding and still want your photographs to feel relaxed and natural. You can have a smaller wedding and still want the complete story documented.
The important thing to me is that your photography fits you and your wedding, rather than making your day fit a photographer's formula.
Wedding photography packages with Photoomey Photography currently start from £595, with full-day wedding photography starting from £1,495.
There are options for intimate wedding coverage, ceremony-to-speeches coverage, full-day photography from preparations through to the first dance, and an extended experience including a pre-wedding shoot.
Every collection is designed to give you beautiful, professionally edited photographs while keeping the experience relaxed from your first enquiry through to receiving your final gallery.
When you book me, you're not just getting someone to turn up with a camera.

Wedding photography throughout Devon and Somerset, with travel across the wider South West
My goal is simple: to create photographs that feel like your wedding, not somebody else's.
You should be able to look through your gallery years from now and remember the people, the laughter, the atmosphere and exactly how the day felt.
That's what I want your wedding photographs to do!
Wedding venues I've photographed across Devon and Somerset
I've photographed weddings in a wide range of venues across Devon, Somerset, Bristol and the wider South West, from countryside barns and elegant manor houses to coastal locations, hotels, town halls and outdoor celebrations.
Every venue brings its own challenges and opportunities, from changing natural light and different room layouts to completely different weather conditions and timelines.
That experience means I don't need your venue to be one I've photographed before. I'm comfortable adapting to new spaces, finding the best light, anticipating moments and working with whatever your wedding day brings.
Some of the venues where I've photographed weddings include:
Devon: Bickley Mill, Cockington Court, Lupton House, Harefield Barn, Rockbeare Manor and other venues across the county.
Somerset: Crowcombe Court, Hestercombe Gardens, Wells Town Hall and other Somerset wedding venues.
I've also worked as a second shooter at St Audries Park and Coombe Lodge, so I know both venues well even though they weren't weddings I led.
Bristol, Bath & Cotswolds: Kingscote Barn, Eastington Park, Bath Guildhall and other venues across the wider South West.
If you don't see your venue listed, don't worry. I've photographed plenty of weddings at venues that were completely new to me, and I genuinely enjoy discovering somewhere new and finding the best way to photograph it.
