How Long Does It Take to Get Your Wedding Photos Back?

The short answer: most UK wedding photographers deliver the full gallery somewhere between 4 and 12 weeks after the wedding. With me, your full gallery arrives within 8 to 10 weeks, and you'll get a handful of sneak peeks within 72 hours (usually the very next day!).

If you've just got married, or you're planning ahead, it's completely normal to be wondering when you'll actually get to see your photos. You've had the most amazing day and you want to relive it all over again, I completely get it!

So here's an honest look at how long it takes, why, and what happens in the meantime:)

Sneak peeks within 72 hours

Waiting can feel like forever, so I always send a handful of edited sneak peeks after your wedding. I promise these within 72 hours, but most of my couples actually get them within 24 hours. The 72 hours is just there in case I'm photographing weddings back to back that weekend.

They're perfect for sharing with family and friends, or posting while everyone's still buzzing from the day.

Your full gallery within 8 to 10 weeks

Your full gallery will be ready within 8 to 10 weeks. For a full day wedding, that's usually 400+ edited photos, covering all the big moments, little moments and everything in between.

If your wedding is in the busier summer months, it's more likely to be towards the 10 week end, and in quieter months it can sometimes be a little sooner.

Why does it take that long?

I spend around 40 hours on every wedding gallery, and here's where that time goes:

Backing everything up. As soon as I'm home, every photo is backed up to more than one place so nothing can be lost.

Choosing the best photos. I go through every single photo from your day. I use software to help sort through them, but I always check every selection myself so no special moment gets missed.

Editing each photo. Every photo is edited individually for colour, light and consistency, so your gallery looks bright, colourful and natural, and true to how your day actually felt.

Delivering your gallery. Your photos arrive in a private online gallery that's easy to view, download and share with family and friends.

Peak season vs quieter months

If your wedding is in the busier summer months like June, July or August, your gallery is more likely to arrive towards the 10 week mark, simply because there are lots of weddings to edit at that time of year. In the quieter winter months, you might get yours a little sooner.

Either way, you'll always have your sneak peeks within 72 hours (usually the next day!), so you won't be left waiting with nothing to look at:)

Photographers are people too!

Just like you, I have family, friends and a life outside of weddings. Your wedding is so important to me, and that's exactly why I don't rush your gallery. Every photo gets proper time and care, so everything looks just how your day felt.
